The Journey of a 21st Century Pilgrim

If i were to describe my pilgrimage, it would be as a journey away from doctrine and towards the person Jesus. For twenty years, i lived and breathed doctrine. The lesson learnt is that doctrine divides. It excludes or includes. It creates fences to keep you in or out. It nurtures exclusive camps within. The journey, however sincere, has led me to discover a fragmented community. All i see is a dark tunnel-like corridor with doors on either side. Each door belong to a denomination, carefully guarded, lest 'the other ' gain access to contaminate the sacred space of doctrine.

In the cold dark corridor, to my great chagrin, i encounter Jesus.
